Bob Lorinser recognized as ‘Gun Sense Candidate’ by Moms Demand Action

In recognition of his leadership on gun safety, Lorinser has received the prestigious "Gun Sense Candidate Distinction" ahead of the August 6, 2024 primary election.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — Bob Lorinser, running for the U.S. Congress in Michigan's 1st District, has proudly received the esteemed 'Gun Sense Candidate' distinction from Moms Demand Action.

Moms Demand Action is a national grassroots movement founded after the tragic Sandy Hook shooting. They have dedicated volunteer chapters in every state, including Michigan and Washington, D.C.

Moms Demand Action is a key part of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest organization in the nation focused on preventing gun violence, with nearly 10 million supporters.

Lorinser, in line with 81% of the nation, supports universal background checks, federal research on firearm injuries and deaths, and safe storage laws.

Lorinser is also a proponent of mental health initiatives, ending immunity for firearm companies, and implementing waiting periods.

"Gun violence is a public health epidemic," said Lorinser. "I am honored to join Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety in the fight to prevent mass shootings, the proliferation of suicide, accidental deaths, and other senseless tragedies.

“While I support the Second Amendment, I believe gun owners have a responsibility for safety. As a congressional candidate, I am dedicated to finding lasting solutions for our communities' well-being."
