Americans are overpaying wealthy corporations for healthcare, and it's not making us live longer

America's medical care has been hijacked by giant, wealthy corporations and the morbidly rich seeking profit before healing. I intend to lead the fight for a more equitable healthcare system.

To enact change, first, I need your help getting to the House of Representatives.

Healthcare costs as a percentage of American GDP over time

Can you help me get to Congress so I can stand up to ultra-wealthy corporations and the uber-rich? We must demand they cut costs, continue innovative care, and pay their fair share.

Hundreds of thousands of families declare bankruptcy every year because of medical expense. The number of bankruptcies in all other developed countries combined to zero.

US healthcare spending reached (18% of our GDP), $4.3 trillion, which averages to about $12,900 per person, double that of many other countries, and we get less than we deserve.

I've been honored to make my living as a trusted family physician for struggling rural families in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula for over 30 years. I want to end my service in the US House of Representatives to wipe out medical debt and solve this medical crisis.

America needs a publicly financed, non-profit, national health insurance program that fully covers medical care costs for all US citizens, which we can do for half the price we're currently paying.

Our healthcare system is broken. It's rigged to benefit billionaires at the detriment of hardworking American families. Rep. Jack Bergman refuses to fix it and sides with his ultra-wealthy donors, so it's high time we get a family doctor in the House.

Will you chip in today and join our movement so I can continue to fight for everyday Americans?
