Bergman's involvement in election lawsuit "unusual, inappropriate, disturbing" — Dr. Bob

A new investigative report by the Record Eagle exposes Rep. Jack Bergman's involvement with those who attempted to overturn a free and fair election.

ANTRIM CNTY, Mich. — "The 1st District deserves a Congressman who supports our Constitution, freedoms, and right to be heard," said Dr. Lorinser. "I will protect election results even when they don't go my way.

"It's now clear my opponent had his hands all over the conspiracy to overturn the election lost by the previous administration. In December of 2020, Bergman's interference continued the threat to our democracy, and our Constitutional right to vote and be counted."

A new bombshell investigative report by journalist Mardi Link of the Record Eagle highlights the Representative’s "inappropriate" involvement in the conspiracy to overturn election results, according to Dr. Bob Lorinser.

Through the Freedom of Information Act, Link discovered Bergman helped coordinate county officials and out-of-state political operatives who were granted access to examine Dominion voting machines in Antrim County.

In November 2020, a human error in a Republican clerk's office resulted in an unofficial report of Republicans and Democrats switching vote results in Antrim County. Officials quickly corrected the human error, but months later, conspiracy theorists used it as the catalyst for "election fraud" across the entire United States. In addition, it triggered forensic audits of Dominion voting machines.

On Jan. 6, 2021, during the attack on the US Capitol, Jack Bergman voted against the certification of President Biden. Dr. Lorinser says the article highlighting Bergman's involvement shows an attempt to disavow Michigan's presidential voting in Antrim county.

"My opponent’s actions are disturbing, shocking, and worthy of further investigation," said Dr. Lorinser. "His involvement threatens the principles upon which this nation was born."

Lorinser says just as disturbing is Bergman's staffer claiming the challenges in Antrim county were not political or partisan.

"The voters of the 1st District demand accountability and an explanation directly from our Congressperson why he was involved at all," said Dr. Lorinser. "As indicated by sources in the investigative report, my opponent's behavior here is highly unusual, suspicious, and clearly partisan-motivated. This was not only shameful and dishonest; it was a real threat to the country."

Lorinser says there was no evidence of fraud in the 2020 election, and Jack Bergman has since doubled down on his dishonesty.

"Doubling down on a lie is not strength. It's dishonorable." —Dr. Lorinser.

"It's time to end the conspiracy, dishonesty, tales of falsehoods, and outright lies," said Dr. Lorinser. "We must return to a 'government of the people, by the people, for the people.' We need honesty in Congress, and I look forward to the opportunity to bring dignity and integrity back to this office for Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula."
