Independent Voter Q&A with Dr. Bob — "Will you ever vote against your party?"

I never thought my vote was for or against my party. My vote will be what is best for us in the 1st, for Michigan, and our Nation.

Can you make a contribution right now so I can reach out and earn the trust of voters across the political spectrum?

NORTHERN, Mich. / U.P. — The people of the United States believe in liberty, equality, and justice for all. We believe in the Constitution, and we believe in the pursuit of happiness and freedom.

Throughout our history, we have fought to safeguard the rights of all Americans. I intend to offer common-sense leadership to a deeply divided House — because a house divided against itself cannot stand.

That's what's at stake in this election. If we don’t bring reason and dignity to government, we won't be able to solve problems or serve anyone.

Jack Bergman doesn’t represent who we are. In Congress, yes, I will work with the party of Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Eisenhower 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 — the party that stresses liberty and inalienable rights as central to our Nation.

If a bill comes to my desk and benefits the people of #MI01, it doesn’t matter which party proposed it, it will earn my support. When a bad bill originates from my party, like the people I represent, I vow to remain fiercely independent.

I will communicate, collaborate and compromise with legislators with whom I disagree — as long as they believe in a government that works for the well-being of all Americans. I will work with leaders who tell the truth and serve with integrity.

If my opponent valued any of that, I wouldn't want to unseat him. I'm running because Jack Bergman attempted to subvert the foundation of our republic. He supports extremism, promotes division, and sows discord.

He passed into law only two sponsored bills in six years, and chose to exacerbate the partisan divide, voting only for a fraction of the people and against bills that directly benefit the entire district.

The hard-working people of Northern Michigan and the U.P. have been sorely underserved for far too long. We deserve a representative who can represent the best of who we are — regardless of party — someone willing to represent all of us based on principles of fairness, honesty, integrity, justice, and courage.
