The invasion of Ukraine by Russia could result in tens of thousands of fatalities. The main priority of the United States should be to present real solutions for punishment, deterrence, de-escalation, aid, and peace.
This war is not just a struggle for an ally's independence and territorial/economic sovereignty. It is an attack on the free world.
